Low Bridge Alerting System (LBAS) is an innovative bridge strike solution that prevents collisions with low bridges and other road height restrictions.

According to Network Rail, around 2,000 bridge strikes occur in the UK annually, with an average of 5 daily. Besides colossal cost implications, it also causes a significant loss of reputation and, in some cases, the loss of a fleet’s operating license.

They occur due to poor route planning, distracted drivers, and unknown vehicle heights – all related to human error.

Using predictive AI technology to prevent bridge strikes

Our Low Bridge Alerting System does not require driver input; the heights of both the tractor and trailer units are entered into the alerting system at installation.

We have developed an algorithm that uses predictive AI technology to determine when a vehicle is likely to strike a bridge.

A bridge strike is an incident in which a vehicle, its load or equipment collides with a bridge – typically because the vehicle is too tall to pass safely. Most bridge strikes occur where roads pass under railway bridges.

We use predictive AI technology to prevent bridge strikes. Our Low Bridge Alerting System (LBAS) is an innovative bridge strike solution that prevents bridge strikes and collisions with other road height restrictions. Bridge strikes occur due to poor route planning, distracted drivers, and unknown vehicle heights – all related to human error.

The vehicle’s height is inputted during installation without requiring any input from a driver. As a driver travels to their destination, our predictive AI technology identifies potential risks within 60 seconds, based on the vehicle’s direction. If a bridge lower than the vehicle’s height is detected, an in-cab alert is triggered to warn the driver.

  • No driver input is needed from drivers in-cab: everything is set up at installation.
  • Easy installation: remote configuration and adjustable set-up for accurate and easy installation.
  • Revolutionary algorithm: false positives are eliminated, giving drivers the confidence to take action when alerted.
  • Cost-effective: not only will costs be saved through the prevention of incidents, but the solution itself is also very cost-effective
  • Suitable for all vehicles, including tractor and trailer combinations, so a driver is accurately warned no matter the vehicle’s height.
